Pictures from The Wedding Industry Conference As Told By MisyKona.

So I browsed through the internet searching for a review on TWICE 2015, and found a wonderful lady who attended the TWICE Conference and shared her experience on her blog. Thank you Yemisi, I enjoyed it, now I want you guys to enjoy it too. She made a very valid point about Networking. A lot of people do not realize the importance of such gatherings and waste them doing other things. Please never take for granted any gathering where you have amongst you, people who can mentor you plus potential business partners and clients. I hope you have watched the Official Trailer here. A lot of insightful things were shared, even if you didn’t attend, you can still grab a thing or two. So our Friday feature for today is Yemisi aka MisyKona. Enjoy Misykona’s story:

Hello guys,

There we have it, Nigeria is opening up at an astronomical rate , I mean several years back who would have thought we would be attending wedding industry conference , that would have just been laughable.

The wedding industry in Nigeria conference held at The Haven Event Centre, beside Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral (Police College Road), Ikeja GRA on February 4th, 2015, it kicked off officially at about 10:30am and ended at 5pm .The theme was Growth of the Wedding Industry and it’s Impact on the Nigerian Economy.

A lot of entrepreneurs in the wedding industry were present at the event, it was a great time to learn about the industry and listen to experts share their experiences while learning from them. The Wedding Industry Conference & Exhibition (TWICE) was organized by Akin Eso, the CEO of WED Expo and a committee of seasoned practitioners in the industry.

I did notice something though which we might have to talk about in the future  – Rather than networking and seeking mentoring assistance, most people were more concerned about taking pictures with the speakers.I dare say that networking and getting the right information supersedes those pictures.

The industries showcased were the  wedding  , photography , make up , Fashion , event decoration ,DJ, MC and  Band industries which were duly represented by professional practitioners  .All the topics were educative, relevant, inspiring and engaging.

The SPEAKERS were Lanre Olushola, a motivational speaker and life coach who was the keynote speaker of the event. Tunji Babatunde, a life coach and motivational speaker who inspired the audience. Other seasoned players in the wedding industry were also in attendance like Funke Bucknor-Obruthe (Zapphaire Events), Mai Atafo (Mai Atafo Inspired), Banke Meshida-Lawal (BM Pro), Kelechi Amadi-Obi (Kelechi Amadi Obi Studios), Tosan Jemide (Cakes By Tosan), Ayiri Oladunmoye (Oaken Events), Tara Fela Durotoye (House Of Tara), Ibidun Ighodalo (Elizabeth R Events), Seyi Olusanya (Once Upon A Destination) and a host others.

    1. I missed it too, but it was cause of work. The wedding industry has really grown in Nigeria. Years ago, no one would have imagined a wedding industry conference holding not to talk if the crowd that turned up. Thanks for stopping by.

      1. The wedding industry in Nigeria is definitely getting more global attention now which is awesome! I see pictures all the time and y’all are stunning! It’s still a fairly new industry in Senegal but there is a lot of potential 🙂

      2. The wedding industry in Nigeria has blown up beyond our imaginations. CNN even did a feature sometime last year of how much Nigerians spend on weddings and the kind of crowd our weddings attract. I am sure there is potential in the Senegalese wedding industry, are we not Africans anymore? 😉 I see a time in the nearest future, when weddings in Africa will become reference points for weddings in other parts of the world. 🙂
